Porangahau Saleyards. A speeial 'meeting of ' the Porangahau Sale-yards Co., Ltd., was held ou Saturday, Mr E. J. White presiding over a good attendance of shareholders. The meeting decided against voluntary liquidation and will arrange 'to dismantle the yards and sell them by auction. A sub-committe© was set up for this purpose. Lfssie Rathbone Bursarles. ' At a meeting of the trustees controlling the Lissi© Rathbone bursaries, 22 applications were received for bursaries for the coming year, and provisional applications will probably bring the number up to 25. This is the largest number of applications ever received, and the allocation presents a difficulty witli th© limited ; f unds at the disposal of the trustees. To enable as many to participate as possible,. it was decided to reduce the usual grant slightly, and to review the position again at tbe end of six months.
