MOTHERS' UNION MEETS AT ALL SAINTS, TARADALE
At the annual meeting of the Taradale and district branch of the Mothers' Union, held at All Saints', Taradale, the llSV. Canon Hodge presided. Following the devotionai service, Canon Hodge gave an inSpiring address on ''Service." The secretary, Mrs. Smith, read the Teport, which indicated that the branch had been respensible for a vfiry helpful and succesSful year's wOtk. Mrs. Butcher, who had Occupied the jiosition of president dui'ing the past flfteen years, intimated her desire to relinquish the post owing to impaired health. Mention was made by the Cliaifinan and members respecting the yeoman service which Mrs. Butcher had given to the affairs of the Union througliout her long period of office, during which she had accomplished wonderful work and endeared herself to one and all. She was accorded a vote of very grateful appreciation by the members. Expressing her tlianks for the kindly sentiments oi' her fellow-me,ni-bers, Mrs. Butcher said that while for health reasons she feTt compelled to rclinquish the more arduous duties involved in the leadership, she would still retain her interest and lielp the Chion in every way she could. Mrs. Anderson, of Puketapu, was elected to the presidency, and Mrs. Smith was l'e-appointed secretaTy. Afternoofi tea was served by the Taradale members, and a successful niecting closed with the Benediclion, prdnouitced by the Kev. Canon Hodge.
