Tukituki Remit Supported | WAIPUKURAU, Last Night,. Three new. members, Messrs. R. E. and Y. W. Stratford, and Mr. W. I. Matthews, were elected to the Hatuma branch of the Farmers' Union at their last meeting, at which there was an excellent attendance, with Mr. 0. R. Edgecombe presiding. The meeting decided to supporfc the remit of the Tukituki b'raneh, recommending. the provincial executive to eo-operate with all other primary producers' associations in the district. It was explained that- the objectivo . was the eventual federation of all such associations in the Dominion. The rates of pay for farm and station employees, as suggested by the New Zealand Workers' Union, were given careful consideration and certain recommendations were proposed.. Mr. Harris, the new organiser, gave an interesting address on the advantages to be gained by farmers being members of the union. Mr. Cope also gave an address on the advantages of the mutual insuranee scheme.
