HIGH SCHOOL ROLLS
Posilion at Napier "VERY SATISFACTORY" Satisfactory increases in the roll numbers at the Napier Girls' and Napier Boys' High Schools were commented upon by members of the Napier Secondary Education Board at its meeting yesterday. At the girls' echooi the roll number stands now at 248, new enrolments being 104, compared with 86 last yearj and at the boys' school new enrolments of 158 brought up the roll number to 379. "There is also a very satisfactory increase in the number of boarders this year," states the report of the acting principal, Miss A. M. Andersen, "the total number being 29 as compared with 23 last year. It was neoessary this year to advertise that the hostel was full before school opened." Regarding enrolments in Scinde House at the Napier Boys' High School, the principal, Mr W. T. Foster states. — "This year*s number also shows an inorease, We expected to reach the limit of our accommodation, namely 50, but one new pupil and two of last year's at the last moment failed to arrive. Our numbers are therefore 47 with one other to come after Easter. This increase is quite pleasing, and should ensure the success of the hostel.
