At the Ruakituri Women 'b Institute annual meeting, Mrs. W. Berry was eleeted president, Mrs. H. 0. Nolan and Mrs N, Thompson vice-presidents, Miss Spence .treasurer and Miss L. Spence secretary. The chairman apologised for the absence of tho president, Mrs. L L. Spence, who is in hospital. A box of books was sent to the Wairoa Hospital library. Mr. E. T. Hutchinson gave a very interesting talk about his recent tour abroad, The competition, bottled fruit, resulted: Mrs. I. L. Sp&nce 1, and Mrs. N. Thompson 2. Mrs. I. L. Spence won the competition cup for the year. The hostesses were Mrs. D. H. Evans and Miss Highet. The meeting elosed after the singing of the National Anthem ' • .
