■ OMAKERE, Last Night. The morithly meeting of the Omakere branch -of - the Farmers'- Union, presided- over-by'-Mr. T. Price, was held in. the- hall ■ on Monday night.Mr. D. , Ritchie -reported - on the provincial, . meeting ;he . last attended, and mentioned, various remits which - had: been ; brought .forwa'rd. - • An inYitatiqn -to attend ■ Smedley Estate, on MaTch .-2,4, with otjier'. branehee^ of- the _ union was read, . and ,- seyeral members announced their intpntion of jattending.. • ._ . On- the question being put whether this branch was, in favour of. the Farmers T Uhion promoting a ploughing mateh' with "horse and dog events, or •a field "day with lectures, it was unanimously- 'in- favour of the field day.
