CHILDREN'S DAY OUT

Our' Own Correspondent)

Omakere School Picnic

(From

OMAKERE, Last Night. The Omakere School held their annual picnic at the Pourerere beach on Saturday, most of the children travelling by lorry kindly lent by Mr. D. Lethbridge. The .weather was not favourable to begin • with, but Mrs. Allan Kittow kindly made her beach house available, so the children and parents were able to have their lunch in comfort. By the time lunch was over the sun came out and the children were able to run races and play games on the sands. The different games were organised by Mrs. J. McLeod (schoolmaster) and Mr. A. D. Kittow (chairman). Mr. J. Moyier acted as handicapper and did his work so well that every child secured a prize. -Prior to leaving for home, Mr McLeod, on behalf of the children, thanked all the parents and committee for all they had done for the children.
