WAIPUKURAU, This Day. The noise made by two cars coming into sharp collision at the Post Ofiice oorner drew a large crowd into the main street at Waipukurau last night at about 8 o'cloek. No one was injured but tlie cars, wkieh were locked together, were badly damaged. Oue car, driven by Mr. C. Hartland, was approaehing tho intorseetion of the Porangahau road and Ruataniwha street from the eastern end of the latter street, and another car, driven by Mr. G. Staines, was approaehing the intersection along tlie Porangahau road, the two cars eolliding at the eorner. Mr. Hartland swung round down Herbert street in an attempt to avoid the collision. Both .cars had to be towed to garages by brake-down trucks. Mr. Hartland 's car had the radiator knocked in and the right front mudguard flattened, while the other car had the bumper ripped, the right headlainp smashed, and the mudguard badly dented, while the windscree-n was splintered.
