Club's Annual Meeting

PATANGATA, Last Night. The seeond annual general meeting of the Patangata Golf Club was held in the Patangata Hall. The eleetion of officers resulted: Mr E. T. Wilder, president; Mr A. W. Jull, captain and vice-president; Mr M. August, vicecaptain; Mr A. T. Walker, hon. secretaryj Messrs S. Kittow, L. Haycock, J. Kenderdine and C. J. Williams, committee. The following report was submitted by the outgoing committee: "The season again proved most successful. Tlie greens and fairways are greatly irnproved. The elubhouse has been enlarged and the fairways were topdressed during the Iseason. The membership of the club at the close of the season was: Ladies 36, men 44; total 80 members. "The flnancial position is quite satisfactory, Bhowing a small credit balance. Additions to the elubhouse, a Dover stove, an additional mower and the topdressing of the fairways were all paid for out of current year's revenue. During the season the ladies formed their own committee and have affiliated with the Ladies' Golf TJnion, "Three fairways have been altered and the total length of the course haa been inereased 175 yards. The thanks of the club are due to Messrs S. Kittow and A. Dillon for the free use of their land; also to Messrs M. August; and A. T. Walker for challenge cups, and Messrs Grieve Ltd., and others, for trophies donated. , "Your committee desires to express special thanks to the ladies for the excellent catering arrangements during the season; to Mr Les. Haycock for free transport; to the honorary auditor, L Mr W. A. Tod, and to the Hawke 'a Bay Press for the very comprehensive reports published." It was resolved-that the annual subseription be inereased to: ladies '20/-, and men 30/-, affiliation fees to .be paid from club funds and that members be levied a fee of 2/- for personal insurance purposCs. The 1937 feeason will be opened on Maxch 17, when a mixed Canadian foursome will be played, commencing at 1 p.m. Surrounding clubs are cordially invited to take part in this game.
