Council's Meeting

WAIPAWA, ,Last Night. At the monthly meeting of the Waipawa County Council the ranger reported having xemoved 11 head of cattle from county roads during the month. The tender of Mr. A. B. Ireland for the -filling of the approaches to O'Callaghan's and Carlyon 's bridges was accepted. Messrs. Ashby Bros.' tender for alterations to the county office was accepted. The matter of classification of county roads was held over till next meeting to enable further information to be secured. In the Ongaonga riding, the engineer was instrueted to attend to dangerouS corners on the Blackburn road, and to improve the North Block road as per report. It was also decided that, provided the settlers db the Pendle Hill road cut the gorse on the road, the council would do the road up. In the Clinton riding, the far end of Black's road is to be inspected by the engineer and Mr. Thomsen. A new crossing at right angles from Hcllyer's is to be installed at Takapau. Plans for the f ormaton of one mile of road through the. Tikokino township are to be sent to the Highw&ys Board for approval. Noxious weeds aTe to be cleaxed at dumps near Cracknell's Gully.
