Sailor on Hauraki Brought 12,600 FINE AND FORFEITURE

AUCKLAND, Last Night. . A plea of guilty on . a charge of smuggling 12,600 cigarettes and two lbs. of tobacco into New Zealand on March 7 was entered, by Arthur James Norriss, a member of the erew of the motorship Hauraki. The Inspector of , Customs, Mr Mclntosh, said accused came ashore with two bags containing 10,700 Ameri•an cigarettes. The remainder of the igarettes and tobacco were found in iis cabin. The Magistrate fmposed a minimum iine of £25 and ordered a forfoitnre of the goods.
