Biending With Foreign Not Permitted E'ASILY DETECTED

AUCKLAND, Last Night. "The board has deeided to make known that foreign honey flavours, either straight or blended, can easilj be deteeted by the grader and the, boarcl will not accept for export any honeys except tliose produced in New Zealand," said Mr. J. P. Butland, chairman of the Honey Control Board, to-day, xeferring to reports published throughout the Dominion that traders not engaged regularly" in the business proposed importing cheap honeys and re-exporting them. Mr Butland said that the shortage of New Zealand honey appeared to be somewhat magnified, as the cxop was not yet known but, owing to the long spell of wet weather, most producers had suffered a serious reduc(;ion xn crops. The board intended to guard the goodwill which had been built up overseas at the .producers' expense.
