Time Now Ripe For Discussion MR HAMILTON'S VIEW

j AUCKLAND, Last Night. 4 16 days' tour of the Auckland iPxovince was ©ommenced to-day by the jleader oi tha National Party, Hon, A. '{Hamilton. He arrived from Wellington iby the limited express. Aa the express was more than an hour late Mr. Hamilton was obliged to leave almost immediately by car for Warkworth en xonto •to Whangarei. "I have had very encouraging weleomes on my tours in the "south," ho. said in the course of an. interyiew, "aud I am looking forward to making cou- > 'tacts with the many supporters of the iparty in the north. n As you know I 'have not spent mucH time in this part jof New Zealand before and the trip ishould be an interesting experienee. I ;have had many letters from farmers' ;and others especially in Waikato and iBay of Plenty saying that they wish to meet me." Mr. Hamilton remarked that he had not undertaken comprehensive speechjmaking tours earlier because he felt ithat the new Government should not be isubjected to criticism from the platjform until it had had time to settle |down and put its policy into effect. The Government had now been a year in ofS.ce and the time was ripe for a diseussion of its Tecord. Supporters of the National Party at Warkworth entertained Mr. Hamilton to luncheon and he addressed a public meeting at Whangarei *'n the evening. He will hold further meetings at Kerikeri/ Ohaewai and Wellsford. Three days of the tour will be devoted to* Auckland city. Mr, Hamilton is to leave for the Waikato and Bay of iPlenty districts ou Monday and he will ■return to Wellington iu time 10 address la large meeting of business men or March 24.
