OTANE LABOUR DANCE
Successful Function (From Our Own Corres'pondent) OTANE, Last Night. The first of the series of danees arranged by members of the local branch of the La'bour Party, with the object of raising money for the party's eleetion fund, was held in the Town Hall supper room on Saturday night. There was a large attendance, including Mr. I Christie, M.P. and Mrs. Christie. Excellent musie . was supplied by Mrs. Meta (piano) and Mr. J. Mill (violin), while extras were kindly contributed by Mrs. Berkahn; A "Lucky Spot" waltz was won by Mr. Anderson and Miss J. Fowler. ' A dainty supper was served "by the committee under the supervision of Mesdames Baucke and Baikie. After supper Mr. Christie addressed the gathering, congratulating the organisers on hte success of their efforts and expressing the pleasure it gavo Mrs. Christie and himself to be present. The speaker also gave a brief outline of Imperial affairs of the moment, and recent political achievements. Shortly before midnight a most enjoyablo evening was brought to a close by the singing of the National Anthem.
