Monthly Meeting Held From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPAWA, Last Night. ihe mcntnlj meeting of the Waipawa County Council Was held to-day} the chairman, Mr N. M. Paulsen, presirling over Messrs L. The engineer reported that it vould be a very costly matter to remedy the trouble. — The positiQn is to be investigated. Messrs A. Theobald and F. Wells, settlers in the Kaiomotu Native Block, . asked ihe council to take , the steps necessary to compel the Native owners to open up the old watercourse through the block and thus prevent the writers' sections from becoming waterlogged. The question was deferred till next meeting, the riding members and engineer to inspeet and report. The Hawke's Bay County Council advised that the council's share of the heavy traffic fees was £623 9/7. jThe chairman, Mr N. M. Paulsen, said the share of the Waipawa .County was small in comparison with that of other counties. He considered that the alloc-ation should be made on a standard return of expendfture on roads, maintaining that the present system was not equitable.
