GOLF v. AERO CLUB
Trees on Links Allegedly a Danger CASE BEFORE COURT A difference has arisen between the Hawke's Bay and East Goast Aer© Club and th© Hastings Golf Club, and iecently the Aero Club served two notices on the golf club calling upon that body to cut down certain trees, alleging that their height was a danger to aviation. At the Hastings Magistrate 's Court this morning a case was called in which the Hastings Golf Club made two eoniplaints under Section 5 of the PubHo Works Act, 1935, against the Aero Olub to show cause why their notices should not be set aside. Mr E. J. W. Hallett represented the Aero Club and Mr W. S. Averill appeared on behalf of the Golf Club. As a material witness was in Wellington and it would be about three c weeks before he could be obtained, Sfr Hallett asked for an adjournmeut of .the proceedings for that pei'iod. Though he offered no objection to the application, Mir Averill pointed out that there was already a heavy iist of cases set down for the day suggested. His Worship: This will take some time I suppose? Mr Hallett : I think it wilL It was /lecided to adjourn the j*ro« ceedings in the meantim© and be^i counsel are to confer as to a suifcahle day for the hearing of the complainta.
