The yaTding, which consisted of 250 station-bred lines, included a wide range of quality. Extra prime finished Iota were confined to a few entries. Many of the pens wero made up of mixed-bred and miseellaneous sorts, which prolonged the selling. 'Ihe prineipal entry of ox beef was a flraft of Aberdeen Angus bullocks ou account of Mr Ralph Holden, of Makotuku. Most of the remainder of the bullocks, which were well framed, iacked a prime finish. For this quality butchera yreve xestraiued in their bidfiing. The larger yaxding eixabled the butchers. to keep off ,the late high price levels. Young' cows met with quite good eelling, bnt aged plain-finished secondary-quality were hard to trade at redueed values.. In the heifer sectiou very few heavy uorts were ofEered. The peus cousisted ehiefly of small-grown lines. Good quality female cattle found a very satisfactory iuquiry, but liues Kttle better than store quality were xiot "wauted. Very youug stock, such as vealers and xuimers were on offer in increased numbers, to sell to £4 12/-. As the sale progressed the seeondary quality cows became much more difficult to trade, being fully 20/- down on late saies. . , ... At a late" stage jn the selnng a splendid entry of Aherdeen Angus heifers on account of Mr W. L. Nelson, Wliakamarumaru, topped the market, making to £9 7/6. Also on account of Mr Nelson, a fine entry of similar bred good quality young cows made to £9. Bealisations were made as under: — OX "BEEF VALUES Oa account of Mr H. R. Clark, Rissington, five clean-bred Aberdeen Angus bullocks, medium finished but wOUld top off Teadily, were passed at .£ib.Also on account of Mr ClaTk, a fnrther similar-bred line showing a Hereford cross was passed at £10 5/-. On account of Mr J. Lyon, Greenhill, five mixed-bred, fairly-grown xunners, In good order, made to £4 12/-. On account of Mr T. Holden and the •state of J. Holden, Woodville, five 1 large-framed heavy dehorned Hereford bullocks, prime finished, sold accordingi to weight to £13 2/6. On account of the same vendors, five large-framed, heavy, Aberdeen AngusHereford cross bullocks, not so well finished as the previous entry, but would provide good cutting, realised £11 15/-. COW PRICES. An entry of seven mixed-bred medium-framed cows, rather plainly finished, was passed at £7. On account of Little Flaxmere, four clean-bred small to meduim-grown young Aberdeen Angus cows, quite well finished, brought to £6 16/-. Oa account of the same vendors, a fnrther pen of similar-bred young cows, equally well finished, brought to £6 15/-. On aeeount of Mr J. Lyous, Greenhill, three medium-grown young horned Hereford cows, showing extra prime finish, made to £7 18/-. A pen of well-framed mixed-bred plaiu-finished cows made to £7 7/6, the top priced cow being the oaly one showing aay quality. HEIFER RATES On account of Mr H. E. Clark, a gmall-grown clean-bred Aberdeen Angus - heifer, prime young beef, made £7. Also on account of Mr Clark, four medium-grown Aberdeen Angus vealers brought to £3 10/-. On aceouat of Mr J. Lyon, Greenhill, s medium to heavy prime-quality Aberdeen Angus cross heifer, in good order, brought £8 15/-. Other heifers in the same pen, also.in prime order, made to £8 10/-.
