SHEEP-DOG TRIALS
Taradale Meeting Opens * The Central Hawke's Bay Sheep Dog Trial Club's a'nnual trials were begun yesterday on grounds lent ■ by the Dolbel Estate at Redclyffe, Taradale. There was a large attendanee of those interested, who. were ablevto witness a high standard of work. Tha course is in excellent brder, and the ; sheep beingj used were particularly good for trial purposes. Yesterday's work consisted *o£ the long head and holding in.the ring, the run being approximately 800 yards. A total of 34 entries took part, '.and the, arrangements were capably, carfied out by the various officjals. - The judge/ Mr Erio McLeod," of Twyford, expressed himself as being very, pleased with the working, -vvhich re-, flecfed a high standard of efficiency in the handling of sheep. • • To-day the short head and yard was being run.
