CARS COLLIDE
Skid, Locked Together, Into Telegraph Pole TWO ACCIDENTS IN HASTINGS Two .motor collisions occurred within a block of each other and within a period of less than 90 minutes in Hastings yesterday afternoon. No-one "was seriously injured in either accident, though one of the people concerned was slightly injured. The corner of Willowpark road and St. Aubyn street was the scene of tho first accident, between two cars, driven by Mr E. R. Beaumonth, of Napier toad, Havelock Noftb, and Mr William N. F. Stewarfc, grocer, residing in i'ark road, Hastings, respectively. Both vebicles were fairly extensively damaged about the bodywork, and Mr Stewart received cuts to the head which, however, did not require medical attcntion. An hour and a-half later, at 5.50 o'clock, a car driven by Mr James N©wcombe, of Awanui Station, Pakipaki, collided with a lorry driven by Mr Hector G. Apperley, of Heretaunga etrcet, Hastings, at the intersection of St, Aubyn. street and Riverslea road. The two vehieles became locked in the collision and skidded into a telegraph pole. No-one was injured. t
