21ST. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED AT HAVELOCK NORTH
The, Havelock Noxth Town Board Hall was gaily decorated with multicoloured streamers and balloons on Priday evening when, at the invitation of Mr and Mrs W. Greening, over a hundred guests celebrated the coming-of-age of their daughter, Evelyne (Billie). Mrs Greening received her 'guests wearing a brown lace frock with inlets of georgette, the high neckline was caught with a diamente clasp at the back and the long pointed sleeves finlshed with tiny buttons. The guest of honour wore white cloken satin; the yoke was rucked into the high peaked skirt whicE was slimf.tting to the knees then fell in full soft folds. A half belt with long ends hned with silver lame .finished the back. Over the shoulder was a spray . of hand-made silver flowers. She wore a string of pearls, the gif t of an aunt in England. The evening aooii passed in cards, Mr and Mrs Hay being the winners; and dancing to the strains of Les Henry's orchestra. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss Bligh and Mr Herwel. Mrs Warrington entertained with two elocutionary items. Mr B. Pleming played tho extras. Mr W. Saunders made a most efficient M.C. During supper Mr G. D. Panckhurst proposed a toast to the guest of honour. Mr Greening suitably replied on behalf of his daughter and presented her with a gold key, after which the nsual toasts were honoured. Then dissolve it at the rate of 2 tablespoons to 2 quarts of water. To remove any very bad stam from clothes, soak the article in a solu t u of "hypo," such as that used jmphotography. Then wash the article with ordinaxy soap. If a chimney eatches fire, qulckly pu( wet newspapers on the fire. The steam will put the chimney fire out. The dirtiest frying-pan will comp clean if soaked in ammonia and water for a few minutes.
