Mrs-Van Brunt, Morrinsville, and Mrs B. Sharp, Wairoa, are staying with Mr J. Maudsley, Takapau) for a few weeks. . . ■ I Mr B. 0. Morton has been appointed Takapau representative for the Hawke'a Bay Health Camp Campaign. Mr N. Caughley, teller' at the Waipawa branch of the Bank of New Zealand has resumed duty after hfs annual vacation, spent at the E;utt. Misses Clarice and Phyllis Jull, who will leave this week on a holiday visit to England, were farewelled at a jolly party held at the residence of Mrs W. L Limbrick, Waipawa. The hoste«ses were Mesdame3 W. I. Limbrick and Trevor Black. A series of competitions was organised, the winners being Mrs Douglas and Miss Witherow. Mr M. Yai wood, of the' Waipukurau Post Offiee staff, ,who has been transferred on promotion to Taupiri, was farewelled by members of the staff. Mr C. W. Browne presented Mr Yarwood with a travelling rug, pn behalf of the staff. Mr Yarwood, he said, was a reliable and willing worker. Mr P. Meredith eulogised Mr Yarwood 's services and Mr Yarwood suitably responded. ' ' ' Messrs J. Corkill (chairman), W. Taylor (secretary) and J., M. Taylor, of the Wairoa Harbour Board, are visiting Wellington to discusS with the Minister of Marine, the Hon. P. Fraser, the question of a deep-sea harbour at Waikokopu. Mr W. V. Hobin, a former member of the Waipawa Municipal Band, now Tesident in Palmerston North, who was recenlly married, has been presented by the band with a gift as a mark of goodwill. Mr P. A. Milne, health officer for Wairoa for a number of years, leaves phortly on promotion to New Plymouth. Mr Milne has taken an active interest in various forms of ^sport in Wairoa. Mr and Mrs W. Harward, "Kaiangi Pai," Takapau, have returned from a holiday in Napier. Mrs Ellison, sen., who haS been spending a holiday with relatives in Havelock North, has returned to Takapau. Miss Nancy Dwight has returned to Waipawa from a holiday in Christchrirch. Mr and Mrs S. W. Strang, Waipawa,' are on a visit to Wellington. Mr Reg.
