NEW YORK," Feb. 20. Freddie Steele retained his title, winning the decision over Babe Risko in &u exciting 15-round bout before a 8mall , crowd at Madison Square Garden. The ; judges and the referee came to au j unanimous decision, giving Steele ll j rounds and Risko four. ' The receipts jwere 15,686 dollars. | Risko appeared extremely slow in i comparison with his rival. Instead of ■ employing the reckless abandon char,|acteristic of him, Risko constantly re- ' treated before Steele, and there wero only infrequent flurries. Thus Steele was unquestionably the winner, since he did most of the fighting and all the boxing. Steele 's best round was the sixth, in which he hurled Risko to the ropes and rocked him with hooks to the face and body. The round, however, was awarded to the challenger, bocause Steele delivered a low blow. Steele caught Risko oi? balance in the 14th and sent him to the canvas for a ira* tion of a second.
