The Maraekakaho Women 's Institute held the first meeting of the year, in the hall oh Thursday,' Mrs J. Graham presiding over a small attendance. A telegfam was . aispatched to Miss Spencer congfatulating her on receivijig the O.B.E. Sympathy was extended to the relatives of the late' Mrs Bibby, wh'ose 'passing will be keenly felt. Opportunity was taken- by the president to wish Miss Miller bon voyage as she is leavuig ' shortly to attend the Coronation. Mrs Janies Walker, who recently celebrated' hor goldea wedding. w'fvs presented with a brassware and posy in, Honour of • tle occasion. With Mrs Dasent as leader, a committee was chosen to prepare for the flower show to be held early in May. Mrs Lockie ga've a helpful talk on home-nursing, demonstrating the correet way of' applying bandages, ' poultices and slings and giving many hints. A hearty vote of thanks ,was accorded Mrs Lockie. Tea was served by the hostesses.
