Tikokino Gathering
The February meeting of . the Tikokino Women 's Institute was held in the Memorial Hall, Mrs. A. V. Nicholls presiding over a fair attendance. Before commencing the business Mrs. Nicholls made reference to the death of Mrs Bibby and said how the whole m.ovement would mourn her loss, Ali members stood in silence as a mark of respect. A letter of sympathy had been eent to Mr, Bibby. A letter has , also been sent to Miss Spencer, congratulatLng her on receiving . the O.B.E. Nominations for the new committee were to be sent in writin'g to the- secretary within a fortnight of the March rueeting. A' debate,' "Are Modern Girls Bctter Than the Girls in Grandmother •'** Day?" caused much amusement. Competitiona for the month resulted:— Cushion work in wool: Mrs. G. Morrison 1, Mrs. J, Williams 2 aud 3. Jar of gopseberry jam: Mrs G. Morrison 1, Mrs. Petrowski 2, Mrs. Nichols 3, Bost bloom: Mrs. Williams 1, Mr» Bullock 2, Mrs Rumbal 3. The hostesses? coiripetiti'oh -was won by Miss J. . Nicholls. i Afternoon tea was served by. Mrs. A Knapp and Misses Knapp. The siuging of the National Anthem brougVthe afternoon to a close.
