FRIENDS' FAREWELL TO MR AND MRS J. H. SCOTT
About one hundred friends, gathered together in the Buffalo Hall, Hastings, last Friday evening, to farewell Mr and Mrs J. H. Scott on the eve of their departure for Sydney, wh.ere they intend to make their home. The evening was spent in games and -dancing. Musical items were given' by . a few of Mrs Scott's pupils. Solos were sung by Miss J. Parker, accompanied by her mother. Miss N. Atkins gave a banjomandolin solo accompanied by Miss McCutcheon. Miss M. Weaver (piano) and Miss C. Weaver (steel guitar) accompanied Mrs F. Hayes in the song composed by Mr R. Scott, of Sydney. Other items were recitaiions by Mr Shennicks and pianoforte solos b.y Miss McNeice. Miss McCutcheon, Mrs Cook and Miss M. Weaver played for tbe games and dancing. A delicious savoury supper was served by the ladies, after whick. Mr and Mrs Shiunick, on behalf of the gathering, presented a hat ' box initjaled to Mrs Scott, and a gentleman's companion, initialed, to Mr Scott, and wished them all prosperity in tbe l'utqre.
