LONG RANGE ROAD

Proposed Easement Route "An inspection was made of the easement route from Mangatarata to Long Range road, and this line is a very easy line from a formation point of view,"" said Mr J. C. MccLauchlan, engineer of the Patangata county during the course of his monthly report to the council. "It would also be possible to tane a road along this route for about a mile on the Omakere side of Te Manuri road, following oue of the branches of the Waiwhero stream. "This I could not recomiaend, as it would not be a satisfactory line for either Omakere or Long Range settlers. "The easement route is, x consider, tho better route to adopt, as it will delinitely skorten the road length to Waipukurau, from Loug Range and Te Manuri by some five to six iniies. The Omakere route through Mohoe is better oii' for metal, but does not shorten tbe distance to Waipukurau. "
