50 Per Cent. of Hawke's Bay Motorists Have Joined
Almost 50 per cent of the motor drivers who have registered cars in the Hawke's Bay district are now members of the Automobile Association (Hawke's Bay), according to mformation given at the monthly meeting ot the executive in Napier yesterday when it was revealed that since September i, 1936, there have been L119 enlistments to the ranks of the association. While members expressed satisfaction at this result ot the work ot the officers, one expressed the opinion that tho work iiad just started. The total number of members, after cancellations and transfers amounting to 74 have been deducted, is at the present time 3759, and, notwithstanding the fact that the officers have been busy on other work and that one oi them has been away on leave, 329 new members were' admitted during the past month. Of the total, 3322 are financial members, 414 owe subscriptions for one year, and 23 for two years.
