MOTOR-CYCLE PLATOON

In Camp at Waipukurau The motor-cycle platoon attached to the 1st Battalion of the Wellington Regiment is taking part in the manoeuvres of the battalion at Waipukurau. S. Paul, a member of tlie platoon had the misfortune to skid on the Ashhurst bridge when on his way to the manoeuvres, and he received slight. concussion when he struck the side of the bridge. He was taken to the Palmerston North Hospital, but was able to join up witb his platoon yesterday. A military aeroplane from Hobsonville arrived at Waipukurau yesterday to take part in the manoeuvres. It was piloted by Pilot-Officer Lester. The machine Ianded at the Waipukurau aerodrome, but tlip wind was so strong that it was tliought unsafe to anchor it for the night, so it came on to Hastings, whence it left this morning to take part aa the manoeuvres,
