. To-day's Stock Values at Waipukurau STEADY MARKET Despite the ewe fair to be held on Friday, there was a heavy entry of store sheep at Waipukurau to-day, when a steady market prevailed, with values slightly easier than last week. Lambs were again yarded iii large numbers and sold well in vendors' favour, although prices were back as much as 1/6 a head. An exceptionally fine pen of wellgrown, early-shorn white-face lambs, offered on account Mr. F. Stoddart, Porangahau, made the splendid value of ft./6. Medium-framed fat and forward wethers made to 25/6. Most of the breeaing ewes offered were aged sorts, the poor mouths making better propositions for fattening than for breeding. An increased yarding of fat sheep met an unchanged market, the freezing interests being active for the lighterfinished soxts. The only draft of quality in tho cattle section was on account of Mt. Vernon Station — Bed Poll bulloeks and breeding heifers, which met a ready sale. The remainder of the cattle were Jersey sorts, poor in condition and of inferior quality. STOKE SHEEP An entry of 315 aged full-mouthed ewes, in light condition, a fattening proposition only, brought 15/6. | On account Mr G. White Parsons, 195 well-framed eaTly-shorn failing mouths, in medium store order, made 23/10. On account Mr D. E. Kirk, Hatuma, 274 medium-grown good finishing black* face lambs were sold at 20/11. On account of the Estate of W. E. Hudson, Argyll, 211 quite well-grown early-shorn 2-th wether3, in good fresh condition, bTOught 24/10. On account Mr F. Stoddart, Porangahau, 163 extra-early shdrn white-face Well-grown wether lambs, in splendid order, brought 21/6. On account of M. Tansey, Waipukurau, 180 medium-framed f. and f. earlyshorn wethers, in good order, were passed at 25/1. An entry of 172 6-yr. ewes, nddors guaranteed, mouths fairly good, the lino in quite good store order, met with a slow sale and passed at 21/-. Down from Te TTti, 142 early-shorn quite well-grown 2-th ewes, good higheouiitry sheep, in splendid order. brought 37/9. From the same property, 2(15 nieelvgrowii 4-th early-shorn wethers, in good order, brought 25/7. On account of Te Awa Station, 195 small to medium-grown woolly whiteface lambs brought 25/6. Of the same property, 197 small woolly white-face wether lambs were hard to sell at 14/1. In from Ormondville, 122 6-year ewes, quite well mouthed but a little uneven in condition, good doing, brought 22/3. CATTLE. On account of Mr. J. W. Harding, Mount Vernon, two medium to heavy extra-prime Bed Poll young bulloeks, outstanding quality ox beef, realised £12 6/-. On account of the same vendor, a Bimilarly-bred, heavier, .prime-quality bullock in splendid order brought £13 5/-. A further lighter-framed primefinished Bed Polled bullock brought £11 10/-. Eight aged Jersey '*cows, poorly finished, being of inferior quality, were passed at £3 10/-, which was the- only ■ bid. Seven Jersey heifers were not wanted^ and passed at £3 17/6. Eight dehorned Jersey cows, in vory poor condition and of inferior quality, were passed at £2 15/-. On account of Mount Vernon, four two-year Bed Poll heifers, in splendid order and running with a Bed Poll bull since December 3, brought £7.
FAT SHEEP. Four medium prime Down-cross lambs brought 24/9. Eight medium prime-quality whitefaced lambs made 25/6. An entry of 37 medium-weight earlyshorn prime wethers, in from Porangahau, were passed at 26/6. Four heavy well-woolled prime-flnish-ed white-faced lambs brought 28/6. A pen of small-grown li'ght-flnished Down-cross lambs made 22/6. Thirty-nine medium ewes, quite well finished, brought 20/3. Four medium-grown prime Down wethers brought 23/6. Twenty-four woolly medium to heavy quite well-fmished white-faced lambs brought 25/1. Eleven prime shorn wether lamhp brought 23/-. Thirty-two medium black-faced lambs in killable order made 23/-. Twenty-six heavier similarly-bred lambs made 24/9. 51 medium aged ewes, quite well finished, made 20/-. Twenty-six woolly white-faced lambs, well grown and of medium flnish, were passed at 24/10. Twenty-seven well-grown Down-cross nicely-finished lambs, in good order. made 22/6. Fo.urteen aged Down ewes, finished oi? for winter mutton, brought 14/6., Thirty-five well-framed early-shorn ewes, verv lightly finished, made' 18/4, with a slightly heavier entry making 20/4. Eightv-seven small to "medium blackface lambs, carrying good condition, made 23/10. Eighty-five larger similarly-bred lambs, of ligljter finish, brbught 24/1. Eleven late-shorn aged ewes, of secondary quality, hrough t -18/-. On account of Mr E. Mopera, Wantead, 169 nicely-grown f. and f. b.f. lambs containing a good percentage of cullable sorts made 23/-. On account of Mr B. Haldane, Hatuma, 141 medium lambs, a good buy at 18/6. On account of Mr H. Coate53, of Whetukura, 284 early-shorn wotber -wliitofa?ed lambs, well grown and in fresh condition, brought 20/In from Patangata, 110 early-shom ■well-grown 2-th wethers in forward order brought 24/5. On account of Mr ±L. Hutana. Pora ngahau, 120 well-grown fat and for wardblack-faced lambs, in excelbml condition top&ed the market at 23 '10
