Captain RymilFs Discoveries in Antarctic LONG SLEDGE J0URNEY

("Times" ; World Copyright.) LONDON, Jan. 26. A message from Grahamsland states that Captain D. Rymill and Mr Bingham have returned to their base after a ten weeks' sledge journey in which they traversed 535 miles. They extended the expedition's survey across Grahamland in latitude 65. 50 south and mapped 149 milee of the east coast as far south as la bitude 70.40. Nobody had previously &ct foot on the east coast south of latitude 66, 300 miles further north. They found a sloping plateau, rising gradually from the west coast to iOOO feet to the east thereof, with mountain ranges and many summits over 300 miles farther north. The east coast runs north and south and liea 30 miles east of the position previously supposed. The position is defined by crevassed ice slopes spilling shelf-ice into the Weddell Sea. The party spent 30 days surveying the coast and established that Grahamsland is not an archipelago, as might appear from fogs creeping up the bays above the glaciers, suggesting broad channels, among which the mountains might seem to be islan-ls. The party returned and pitched its highest camp at 7500 feet, but, later, was ' hindered by broken country and crevasses. They had a most dangerous trip over the last stages homeward, crossing 60 miles of rotting sea i.e.
