DEATH OF DOMESTIC
Operation in Wellington FINDING OF CORONER A verdict that Beulah Bray-Gunn, a 19-year-old domestic, died at the Napier Public Hospital.. on. November : 27 last, as the result of septicaemia following abortion, was Teturned by^ the Napier coroner, Mr A. E. Bedford, J.P., at the Tesumed inquiry this morniixg into the .death of Miss Bray-Gunn, "who was an employee at the Masonic Hotel. The coroner added that th'ere was no evidence to show that the aboftion was not due to natural causes. Evidence . relating to a post-mortem was given by Dr, J. Allan Berry, of Napier, who recalled, visiting the. deceaaed at her quaxters and.then.ordering , her to the .Napier .Public . Hospital, where she died. There was.no evidence to show whether there h'ad been aav criminal interference. •> ' Dorothy Hindrup, an ex-employee of ■ the Masonic Hotel, Napief, said that the deceased was a fellow-employee. sharing -the same room. She recalled her. saying last Gctober . that.- she was going to Wellington to receive medical attention. In November she said that her operation -had been succeesful. Detective-Sergeant H. Nuttall said that injuries made at tveiUngton had defnitely proved that deceased had never been a patient- at.the 'Wellington Public Hospital between Oetober 26, 1936, and November 10, 1936. Witness had establish'ed, however, that she was in Wellington, but her movements thore could not be traced by the police.
