RAMS TO 25 GUINEAS Strong Demand at H.B Fair. PSICES INCREASE A strong demand providing a bright maxket ruled for flock Romney rams at the annual rain fair which opened qt *the Tomoana Showgrotmds to-day. Prices were well in advance of last year's levels, and in ar large percentage of tho lots good selling resulted. The quality of the offering was wide, with all types selling well. The poorer ^wa in particular commanded aurpris-. ingly good saies. The top lots were of good quality, but the lower-quality peria ahowed evidence in many cases of hav-' Xng been subject to heavy picking ovo? Sn piivate saies made on the property. Many of these were on the small eide, Jight in eondition and lacking in good Romney type. The offering of over 3100 included pens from well-known breedersfrom all parta of the Dominiotf, some being from ma far south as Invercargill. The vaxious brokers' catalogues were oobiaitted . to a large nttendance of trayers, many of* whom were from outjade Hawke's Bay. The tdghest priee obtained during the #arBer tstage of .the seliing was SJSgns. for a fine pen of r U-sh., olfered on aecount of Mr 0. T. Keeble, Palmerston Horth, by the Hawke's Bay Farmers ' Go-operative Association, the purchaser Being Mr A. Inglis, of Takapau. The ■ nest best priee was 19 gns. for a pen of 5 1-sh., offered un account of Mr F. W. . Blatehford, Woodville, the purchaser being Mr G. Dalby, "of Porangahau.
