Wairoa P.W.D. Men to Have Time Off

WAIROA, This Day. In response to a request to the Minister of . Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, by the mayor, Mr H. L. Harker, a number of Public Works employees will be permitted this year to attend the Wairoa races. The Minister replied that he gave autliority to grant leave without pay to the Department's workers at Mohaka, Wairoa, Waikokopu, and Kopuawhara to attend the races on February 4 where this can be done without any disturbance to the work.
