EIGHTY ATTEND COMING-OUT DANCE HELD IN NAPIER
Very enjoyable indeed was the com-ing-out dance given in the YictoTia Hall, Napier, on Monday evening hy Mr and Mrs E. R. Dampney, of "Ealand," near Te Pohue, for Miss Margaret Dampney. About 80 guests were present. Mr and Mrs Dampney received the guests at the entrance to the hallroom, Mrs Dampney wearing a French model gown of dull black 'crepe, a red corsage posy giving relief. Miss Margaret Dampney wore a model frock of heavy eau-de-nil. ribbed satin made with the new full bodice and having a very smart yoke; a coatee of the same material fashioned with phff sleeves and finished with a dianiente buckle was also worn. Miss Mildred Dampney was smartly gowned in navy and lemon floral silk marocain. Mias Phyllis Dampney 's dainty frock of lemon organdie flowered in pink and blue had .frilly sleeves and neck outline. ■ - • - The ballroom was decorated with Ted and white paper streamers and gailyv coloured halloons. Hydrangeas and pot ferns decorated the orehestral dais. Music ' for dancing was supplied hy the Buffis .' orchestra and delightful supper extras by Messrs D. Bisson and'Stevenson (2). Delicious ices were served between dances, and supper, mostly savoury, was served from a buffet in the supper room.
