MISHAP TO STEERING GEAR
MOTOR VESSEL IN GALE TEMPORARY REPAIRS EFFECTED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, June 17. D Hiring the height of Thursday’s south-easterly gale the steering of the motor vessel Awalioui was carried away when the ship was between Table Cape and Gisborne. The vessel hove to for two hours while temporary repairs were effected. Permanent repairs were ffeetedi here this morning.
