The receipts did not reach the estimate of eight thousand millions. PARIS NEWSPAPERS' COMMENT. Received July 30, 11.15 a.m. PARIS, July 29. The newspapers acknowledge that the Olympic Games were not a success, and the general management’s errors in organisation are severely criticised. It appears to be generally agreed that the games are too long drawn out, ami it is suggested that a more severe qualification test should be set competitors with a view to eliminating all those whose certified achievements are not truly up to the Olympic standard.
