PUNISHING THE MURDERERS OF GREEN. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) Brisbane, This day. Sir Wm. McGregor has informed the Government that the force despatched to punish the murderers of Green, the Resident Magistrate, and party recently murdered at New Guinea, had a skirmish with the natives, two bushmen being shot dead. Subsequently in a big fight four natives were shot dead. He states that the warriors are completely humbled in the eyes of the * other tribes. Sir Wm. McGregor is continuing the exploration of the interior of New Guinea.
