REPRISALS AGAINST BRITAIN
A SUGGESTED ALLIANCE. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) Paris, August 21. Figaro, in an article, suggests that it will be better if the Alsace-Lorraine quarrel is left to the next generation to settle, advocating in the meantime a Franco-Prussian-German coalition against Great Britain. The same journal contends that a duel between Germany and England is inevitable in order to prevent the creation by England of a new Australia in South Africa. There is an impression that the article was inspired by M. Hanotaux, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
