Four men were sinking a shaft in the Central Boulder mine, Ivarlgoorlie. when a box of dynamite ignited, and they weVjC' overcome by the fumes. Several miners descended 150 ft. Both rescued and rescuers were in a bad state from the effects of the fumes. One of the rescuers a few days previously saved a mate, descending a 50ft. shaft and pulling out lighted fuses, when his mate fell to the bottom after firing the charges.
