THE RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
NEW SOUTH WALES WITHDRAWS ITS SUPPORT. (Pt f Tress Association. —O'jnfriifht.) Melbourne, This day. At a meeting of the Rifle Association a communication was received from the New South Wales Association stating that it had been decided to withdraw from the Council of the Rifle Association of Australasia. The grounds of withdrawal are that the Council as? at present constituted is of no practical utility, there beiug no continuing organisation to carry out resolutions passed at the annual rneetings. _ _ The last meeting of the Council in New Zealand was instanced when a resolution was carried favoring the sending of a federal team to Bisley. The matter then ended as far as the federal action was concerned, but three federated Associations arranged separately to send teams. It is considered that no practical utility will be served until the federation of the colonies is established.
