THE FIRE SUBDUED. ( Per Press A*x'» iuti'»i. —Cf>j>>/ri<i/it.) Ai.juxv, July 27. The fire in tbe Gulf of Martaban is stiil raging, and is apparently spreadng forward. The seamen's quarters became so hot that they had to move. One was overcome by the fumes. Water is being poured in at the rate of 15,000 gallons per hour. This day. The fire in the Gulf of Martaban has been extinguished ; and the vessel lies aground forward with 28ft of water in the hold. The damage will not be known till the cargo is shifted.
