(Per Press Angulation.—( 'u/ir/ri'/ftt.) Sydney, -June 20. It is now stated that the tobacco tag with which Butler attempted suicide was from a brand not sold in Sydney. He must have brought it from San Francisco, and kept it concealed. Brisbane, This day. At the fruit show held in connection with the Intercolonial Frui 1 ; Conference, the prize for the collection of apples was taken by the combined New Zealand Agricultural Societies. E. Morrison, Waikouaiti, N.Z., took a prize for cured Lisbon lemons. Melbourne, This Day. Mrs C'ummini? and her married daughter Mrs Scott, were found dead in bed at North Melbourne. They had apparently been suffocated by an escape of gas. Both had been dead for several days. Perth, This day. F. E. Arthur, managing director of the Mount Morgan mines at Coolgardie, died from an overdose of morphia. He was formerly a pastoralist in Poverty Bay, New Zealand, where he leaves a wife and two children.
