At the military tournament the New South Wales Lancers again distinguished themselves, Sergeant Williams winning the first prize and gold medal for tent pegging and Trooper Harkus the first prize and gold medal for lemon cutting. In the riding and jumping contests for colonial troops Privates Tapiin and Barton, New South Wales Mounted. Rifles, secured first and second honors. June 11. At the military tournament the New South Wales team defeated the Naval Brigade at wrestling. At the close of the tournament the Duchess of Connaught presented the prizes to the successful Colonial competitors, who were immensely applauded.
