In connection with the Moree mystery the jury found that Pitman died from self iniiicted wounds, but recommended the police to make further enquiries. With regard to the hidden rifle. The evidence showed that deceased bought the rille for kangaroo shooting and the supposition is that he fatally wounded himself and hid the rifle while his strength remained.
