The Supreme Court Criminal sessions opened this morning before Judge Denniston. In charging the Grand Jury, His Honor said that of fifteen bills sent before them they would find few which would give any trouble. He then proceeded to comment on the various cases, referring more particularly to the Opawa manslaughter case. Thomas Yoyce, aged 50, pleaded guilty to rape, and was sentenced to three years.
William Smith, aged 71, pleaded guilty to a charge of horse stealing; also theft of a saddle and bridle, and received four months on each charge, to run concurrent.
Edmund G. Land, for stealing a bicycle, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to three months.
