The Wellington Seat.

Wellington, This day,
The Court was further engaged in an inquiry into the cases of doublevoting. Some were abandoned and others left for further inquiry. Evidence was then brought to show that Mrs Fisher had hired a room near the Kink, which was used as a committee-room, but this count broke down, and the Court disallowed the charge. 11. J. Williams gave evidence as to the organisation of the Licensed Victuallers for the election, principally for the local option poll. About £250 was subscribed. They had several committees, one of which arranged for the conveyance of electors to the poll, but he could not tell the names of the Cabmen employed.
The recount of votes in the petition case will last three or four days longer. A number of papers were found to be ungummed, and there were numbers on the outside instead of the inside. These have been laid aside, and may lead to the whole election being declared void.
