Prohibition Clutha.

* A HEAVY FINE FOR SLY-GROG SELLING. [By Telegraph.] (I'er I'rcss Association). Dunedin, This day. At Balclutha yesterday, John Anderson was fined £7O and costs for slygrog selling. Commenting at Balclutha on the position of affairs regarding the licensing question in Clutha, Mr Hawkins, S.M., said that although the poll recently taken had reversed the Prohibition vote previously carried, he was of opinion that until the Alcoholic Sales Control Act is amended no additional licenses can be granted. He therefore warned persons against selling without licenses, and intimated that he intended to inflict severe penalties as before.
