Ah Unscrupulous Prohibitionist.
[By Telegraph] (I'er I'rrss AxHociatinn.) New Plymouth, This day. An accrimonious newspaper correspondence, between the lie v. C. H. Garland and the President of the Licensed Victuallers' Association, respecting a charge against two hotelkeepers here, has terminated by Mr Garland publishing a letter admitting that the charges were founded on hearsay evidence ; that he cannot prove them and that he regrets having made them. The matter has been exciting intense interest here and the opponents of prohibition are much elated at the result.
