The Coming Elections.

| The Premier addressed a crowded meeting at Taita, twelve miles from Wellington this evening, and then drove to the city and addressed an enormous meeting at the skating rink. At both places he received most enthusiastic receptions and votes of thanks and confidence. Mr Hornsbv, a candidate for the Wairarapa seat, has instructed his solicitor to lay information for criminal libel against X Rays and the Daily Times, Masterton. The former, which is a Wellington publication, had an article casting reflections on Mr Hornsby's personal character, and the latter reprinted it. Nelson, Nov. 80. There is great excitement here over the election. To-night Mr Graham replied to Mr Duthie in the theatre, every portion being crowded. His figures and quotations in reply were received with cheers, and his veryplain speaking about the National Association elicited great applause. Mr Graham was enthusiastically cheered. Tni-vsr. Nov. HO. Mr M'Leod has withdrawn from the contest for Geraldine. Inveecaegill, Nov. 30. It is officially announced that Mr IJeaven, candidate for Awarua, principally in the Prohibition interest, has withdrawn. This leaves the fight to Messrs -3. G. Ward and C. Cowan.
