SPANISH TROOPS IN COMBAT.

SEVERE FIGHTING WITH NATIVES. London, October 4.

Despatches received in Madrid last week state that the Sparrtsh troops in the Sooloo (? Hogoleu) Islands have come into conflict with the natives.

Several severe brushes took place with parties of natives, the Spanish troops, with their superior arms, getting far the best of the engagements.

No information has been received as to the loss on either side, nor has a definite statement as to the cause of the trouble been given.
